Invention of the fountain pen

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

“Read! And your Lord is most Gracious, Who has taught (the writing) by pen.” (Quran-Surah Alaq Verse 3-4)

The fountain pen was invented for al-Mu’izz, an Egyptian Sultan, in 953 on his request to have a pen which did not require a separate inkpot and would not stain his hands and clothes. The first fountain pen is the basis of all pens today. “The ink will flow only when there is an intention to write…is this possible?” – “It is possible if God so wills.” (al-Mu`izz and the Craftsmen)

Interesting, no? :)
