Sunnah # 23

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

For this week inshaAllah, try doing dikhr(remembrance of Allah) after the mandatory(fardh) prayers.

The Messenger of Allah has recommended that we say:
  • Subhanallah (Glory to Allah) 33 times.
  • Alhamdulillah (Thanks and praise be to Allah) 33 times.
  • Allahu Akbar (Allah is greater) 33 times.

This does not take much time and reaps in great rewards for the doers.

Take care :)

Sunnah # 21

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

For this week, remember to do dikhr(remembrance) of Allah after your obligatory prayers. The messenger of Allah (May Allah's peace and Mercy be upon him) recommends that we say SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah) 33 times, Alhamdulillah (Thanks and praise be to Allah) 33 times, and Allahuakbar (Allah is greatest)33 times. On first look this may seem like alot, but our habit of jumping off the prayer mat the minute we say salam is not right. Remember that one of the main time when duas are accepted is after the obligatory prayers. So say your salam, praise the Creator and ask Him all that is on your wishlist :)

Have a great week

Sunnah # 20

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

The Prophet SAW said, ‘There is a surah in the Qur’an which is only thirty verses. It defended whoever recited it , until it puts him into paradise ‘ i.e.Surah al Mulk[Fath al Qadir 5/257, Sahihul Jamiea 1/680, Tabrani inAl-Awsat & Ibn Mardawaith]

This amazing surah will intercede; in the Hereafter; for anybody who believes in it and reads it regularly, seeking the pleasure of Allah, learning the lessons contained in it and acting in accordance with the rulings contained therein. SubhanAllah that is what we all want!

The sunnah of the prophet(may Allah peace and blessings be upon him) is that he used to read it before going to bed. So by doing that we not only get the reward for following a sunnah but also that mentioned above :)

Have a great week!

Sunnah # 13

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

When leaving home to go to Masjid or elsewhere, read the following du'aa with concern:

Bismillaahi, tawakkaltu alallaahi, walaa haula walaa quwwata illaa billah

"I have come out in the Name of
Allah. I have put my trust in Allah. There is no power to refrain from sins and no strength to worship Him without the Help of Allah."

It is stated in a Hadeeth that whoever reads this du'aa upon leaving the home, Shaytaan abstains from misleading or inflicting harm to him.

Sunnah # 9

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

When lying down for sleep, the prophet(May Allah's blessings be upon him) would lay on his right side. He would also recite Surah Ikhlas, Surah Nas, and Surah Falaq (the 112th, 113th and 114th surah of the Quran) 3 times. This hardly takes 5 minutes in doing.

Have a great week :)
