Contemplation

Bismillah ir Rahman ir Rahim,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

And the dwellers of the Fire cry out unto the dwellers of the Garden: Pour on us some water or some of that wherewith Allah has provided you. They say: Lo! Allah has forbidden both to disbelievers (in His guidance). Who took their religion for a sport and past time and whom the life of the world beguiled. So this day We have forgotten them even as they forgot the meeting of this day and as they used to deny Our tokens. (Surah Al Araaf, Verse 50-51)

May we be among those who are the people of the Garden (Heaven).  Ameen.

The virtues of salutation

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

The prophet(peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The person who sends more blessings upon me will be the nearest to me on the Day of Judgement." (related by Tirmidhi)

Sending blessings on the prophet basically means reading the durood. There are many duroods which can be read. A Google search will show up many for you :)

Remember, it barely takes up any time to send blessings on the prophet(peace and blessings be upon him), yet the reward is substantially great.

Take care :)

Sunnah # 23

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

For this week inshaAllah, try doing dikhr(remembrance of Allah) after the mandatory(fardh) prayers.

The Messenger of Allah has recommended that we say:
  • Subhanallah (Glory to Allah) 33 times.
  • Alhamdulillah (Thanks and praise be to Allah) 33 times.
  • Allahu Akbar (Allah is greater) 33 times.

This does not take much time and reaps in great rewards for the doers.

Take care :)

Priorities

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

O Allah! Make your love more dear to me than the love of my posessions, and make Your fear more intense than the fear of all my possessions, and You decrease my worldly needs and increase my eagerness to meet with You, and where You have made this world the coolness of eyes for the worldly, keep the coolness of my eyes in Your worship. (Kinz-ul-Amaal)

Ameen

Sunnah # 22

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

For this week, read passages out of the Quran daily. This was a daily act of the prophet. Also, since it is the month of Ramadan, the reward for reading the Quran will be so much more inshaAllah (if Allah wills).

`Abdullah bin `Amr bin Al-`As (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The one who was devoted to the the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.'''
[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

Take care :)

Dua

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

The Holy Prophet(May Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said, "It (Ramadan) is the month whose beginning is mercy, its middle forgiveness and its end, emancipation from hell fire."

Dua for the first 10 days of Ramadan. "Rab-ighfir warham wa anta khair-ur-Rahimin" (My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of those who show mercy) [Surah Al-Mo'minoon ayat 118]

Please pray for the mercy of yourself, your family and friends and the muslim ummah. Remember me in your prayers too :)

Simple and Small

Bismillah,

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!

Few simple and easy to do acts for Ramadan:

1. Think before speaking to avoid backbiting or lying.
2. Read the word to word translation of the Quran and either listen or read its tafseer during your fast.
3. The time before iftaar is the time for the acceptance of your duas and prayers so pray for whatever you want from Allah.
4. Remember you are fasting and need to refrain every part of your body from wrong behavior so try and resolve tense situations immediately or differ them for later so that you do not unnecessarily get angry.

May Allah enable us to reap the benefits of Ramadan fully. Ameen.

Take care :)
